This year the public day was held in Assen, main city of the provence Drenthe. On the famous circuit of Assen all was ready to receive thousands of visitors. In a giant hall everything was build up to show the people what we do for a living and what kind of equipment we use. There were demonstrations of K9 personal, SWAT and RIOT teams, military police etc.. Main goal of this day was to get people with ethnic backgrounds interested for a job with the police. The FPMT was, of course, also present. With uniforms, patches and a small group in front of the big hall.

On my mothers request I organised a small show in the retirement home they live in. Together with family members and other residents a couple of uniforms passed the select group of visitors. Most of them never worn a uniform before.

On 8 November of this year a topic evening concerning the police force in the present organised the Historical Association Sneek and executed. Striking the large rise, wide was 150 persons, who had spent for the greater part their operative life at the different police forces such as the local County Police, the National Police and the Royal Military Police. By means of a dia serial and tales from the first hand a picture was outlined of living as a police-officer. To me the task dress the room slightly. That was not such a problem. And I had still a nice evening also!

Some years ago learned to know Zorro, which is his nickname. He was then operative in a medical profession but wanted into the police force. That that succeeded eventually did not was not astonishing because he is the right man for the job. Already before he applied he was already busy with collecting items of the Dutch police force. Meanwhile he is an  operative member of the Dutch police force. He also has succeeded in a beautiful collection bringing together caps. A number of photographs of its collection you can retrieve behind this nicely helmet of the former Korps Rijkspolitie.

This was a large success because it was very recognizable for the public, which showed up in large numbers. More than 10,000 visitors came to Sneek. It became a long, hot, great day for all the participants.
